Tonight's event started off well with Tommy finishing in the top 3 in his heat, qualifying him for the feature event. The bad luck bug that has been clinging these past few weeks still showed some signs of existence. Tommy started 4th in the feature and was caught up in a scuffle with a few other cars, sending him to the rear, resulting in a broken shock tower and a DNF.
The team will return to the hill next Saturday night for another weekend of modified racing.
Saturday night racing at Grandview Speedway was yet again unkind to the 37x modified. Tommy was leading his heat race after starting 3rd position and was pulling away from the field. As the race progressed, the ignition went on the car resulting in a DNF and having to attempt the consi race.
Starting in the back for the consi event, Tom was racing down the back stretch as a few cars in front of him began to wreck. He had no where to go and clipped a stopped car with the right rear tire, breaking the panhard bar. Barely able to continue, Tom managed to keep racing and found himself in a qualifying position until a right front tire went flat resulting in another DNF.
"Its just frusturating, the car worked awesome in the heat, but the ignition went" Tommy said.
Sunday the team raced at Big Diamond Raceway for the Super Dirt Series big block event. Tommy started last in the 30th position and finished with a respectable 18th.
Racing this weekend began Friday night at Big Diamond Raceway for the TNT Motorsports team. The weather was beautiful out in coal country and the racing was even better. Tom qualified for the feature in his heat race and started 5th for the main event. The car was very loose causing Tom to fight the wheel as much as possible. He managed to hang on and bring home an 11th place spot.
Saturday evening racing at Grandview Speedway was spectacular as usual. Unfortunatly the previous nights luck ran out for the TNT Motorsports 37x. Tom was set to start 4th place in heat #4. Coming through turns 3 and 4 as the green flag was being waived, the 2nd place starter hit the throttle and instantly spun, collecting Tom and shooting the car into the wall. The damage was extensive forcing Tommy to be out of the race. Being in the last heat for the modifieds did not help the team with time. Only one race was in between the 4th heat and the 2nd consilation event which gave the team very little time to repair the mass amounts of damage. 11 cars were in the 2nd consilation event with Tom starting 11th. With only 4 cars being transfered to the feature, the 37x just did not have enough time to get to the top 4 resulting in a DNQ.
"It's very frusturating, we've worked so hard these past 2 weeks to get this car ready for tonights event. We tried a new setup, hoping last nights luck from Big Diamond would keep the team at a good pace, but thats racing". 2008 got off to a rocky start as well when Tom came into contact with a car infront of him who had a very hard, quick stopping hit into the turn 2 wall on the first lap of an early season heat race causing Tom to flip down the back straightaway. It seems that the 37x is paying for other peoples mistakes. Thats racing, last year Tom rebounded and finished the season in 13th place for points. We will do our best to keep that flow going.
Plans for next weekends racing have not been 100% clarified. We WILL be at Grandview Speedway Saturday, but Big Diamond on Friday night is still in the air. Thanks for all the support and see you next week.
This weekend, the TNT Motorsports crew members were anxious to hit the track. Saturday night racing at Grandview Speedway and Sunday night racing at Big Diamond Raceway was on the schedule.
Big Tom Scheetz piloted the red 37x small block modified while his son Tommy Scheetz III piloted the white 37x modified. Little Tom qualified through the second consi while Big Tom missed a spot by a hair.
Tom was set to start from the 24th position. Tonights feature was caution filled and brought problems to the crew. Tom suffered 2 flat tires and a bent axle in the first 5 laps. The crew worked wonders on the car and got Tom back on the track in no time. Unfortunatly the car snapped a brake line shortly after which resulted in a DNF.
Sunday nights race at BDR was yet another exciting first race of the season. Unfortunatly the crew could not get the car dialed in and Tom battled extreme loose conditions through out the night resulting in a DNQ. We will see everyone at Grandview Speedway next Saturday night for hopefully a better night of racing.
Winter is still pouring down snow on the local race tracks. But that will not stop the TNT Motorsports 37x team from preparing for the upcoming season. We have big plans for this upcoming season and we've been working hard.
2009 will bring another great season of racing. Our line up now consists of 4 cars. Tom will be driving his 2008 Bicknell powered by a Doug Meyers Racing Engine at the Big Block show held at Selinsgrove Raceway for TNT Motorsports first race of the season, in the end of March. The decision was made to keep Grandview Speedway as the primary small block track. Tom's primary car for Grandview Speedway will be a Teo Chassis powered by a Doug Meyers Racing Engine. The team also has 2 Bicknell cars that will be on standby. The final decision as to what we are going to do with these cars has not been made. A few thoughts are to run Big Diamond Raceway on Friday nights, or a possible second "mystery" driver. Only time will tell.
TNT Motorsports has been invited to place a car in the Coventry Mall Racecar show which will be held in early March. The final decision will be made shortly if we will be attending this show. Odds look very good indeed. So come out and see the TNT Motorsports Big Block car as well as other race cars at the Coventry Mall just off route 100 in Pottstown, PA during the weekend of March 6th to March 8th. See ya there!
The racing season has officially ended for the TNT Motorsports crew. We would like to thank our sponsors, Jeff Dambrosio Dodge, DenBraven Contracting, TNT Repairs for a great season. Just want to send thanks out to the entire crew for their help and support. A special thanks to Earl for providing the crew with outstanding help, refreshments, and those awesome hoagies you always bring. Also would like to thank Doug Meyers for those very reliable motors. We lasted a whole season and did NOT have any engine problems!
Tom attended Grandview Speedway's award banquet this past weekend. He was awarded most improved driver in the modifieds. Tom finished 25th in points at the end of the 2007 season and improved to an outstanding 13th place position in 2008. Great job!
During the winter break, we will be putting together a Teo chassis modified to run at Grandview next season full time. We will also still keep our 2 bicknell small block cars and big block car for backups and special shows. Keep checking the site through out the winter for progress updates and pictures to come.
After a long season at Grandview Speedway, tonight was the last night for the points season. The car seemed to be working well tonight. AS always, qualifying at Grandview Speedway was difficult but Tom managed to qualify through his heat and make the feature event.
Starting 17th, the crew knew it was going to be tough avoiding accidents. Grandview's qualifying system allows the drivers that are lower in points to start towards the front if they qualify through the heats. This makes it difficult for the top points contenders to come through the field. Tommy managed to keep away from the clashing cars and race home to a 13th place finish. Although we didn't get a win this season, it was still a pretty good season with a 13th place in the final points standings.
The team will be taking the next few weeks off to build our Syracuse car and get ready for the spectacular New York race in October. Thanks for everyones support this season.
Tonight was the night of the prestigous Freedom 76er at Grandview Speedway. This is the race of all races. With $20,000 going to the winner, not a single driver was going to hold anything back.
The night started out good with Tommy finishing his heat race in a qualifying position. During the feature, Tommy was set to start 19th. The car was so fast. Within the first 12 laps, the 37x had raced its way into 8th spot. While attempting to pass on the high side for 7th place coming out of turn 2, the car on the inside moved up the track and put Tom into the wall hard. Viciously punding the wall down the backstretch, we knew the car would have problems. After another 2 laps, Tom had to pull the car into the infield. The impact bent the front axle sheering of the right front brake line. Since the car had no brakes, the car was not suitable for racing conditions resulting in a DNF.
It was very unfortunate to be put into the wall and end such a great night that early in the race. The car was so fast and definatly had potential to be a top 3 contender and possibly a winner. We will see everyone next week for the final points race of the season at Grandview Speedway.
Tonight was another triple header show with the Nascar Modifieds, Late Models and Legends. This was the second to last week for the 2008 points season.
Tommy was set to start 6th in heat number 2. He made a valuable effort the whole race but was unable to make it into a qualifying position until a last turn pass giving him 5th. We were not sure if Tom had gotten the position so we made a trip to the pit office for reassurance. Tom's magnificent last turn pass was extremely close and made it such an exciting finish.
The feature seemed to be a different story for the 37x. The car was working very well and after a few circuits, Tom found his way into 9th place from the starting position of 18th. "Slick" Rick took a nasty spill coming out of turn 2 bringing out the red flag. As the race went on, Tom said the car just went away on him and got too tight. This resulted in a 13th place finish.
Racing at Grandview Speedway tonight was wild as usual. See everyone next week for the final points race of the season.
Grandview Speedway once again hosted the 600 Modifieds in another triple header show. The 600 Modified race was once again shortened due to the amount of crashes. Only 8 laps were completed in the race when the checkered flag flew.
As for the TNT racing team, the night did not go as planned. The car worked great most of the night and was definatly a top 10 car. Unfortunatly, Tom suffered a flat tire in the heat race and he did not qualify for the main event. Tom was able to qualify through the consi with a late race pass and than a final turn pass of Sean Merkel giving him 3rd place. Starting 26th in the feature, Tom wasted no time in moving towards the field. He found himself in 18th place after 4 laps. While trying to avoid an accident, 2 cars came into contact with the 37x bending his steering arm. The crew worked as hard as they could to replace it. They were able to get Tom back out on the track but the field had already gone green and he was 2 laps down. We all decided that he should turn a few laps just to try and gain some points. Tom pulled into the infield several laps later due to his brakes failing. A DNF would result.
Another triple header was instore for tonights racing at Grandview Speedway featuring the Nascar Modifieds, Late Models and 600cc Modifieds.
Heat race action was underway with Tommy starting 7th in the 3rd heat. He fell back to the rear as the green flag was waved do to an ill handling race car. He battled his way back to 6th place trying vigorously to pass the 5th place car. The 5th place car ran Tommy to the inside of the track forcing contact between the two drivers. This is what drivers refer to as "chopping". Just about all drivers would agree "chopping" is un-called for and not a form of clean racing. Tommy ended up finishing 6th. He was set to start 1st in consi #2 and led every lap which qualified him for the main event.
Tommy started 22nd in the feature. He was held up by 3 accidents between laps 0-9 which the first accident consisted of the pole sitter spinning out just as the green flag was waved. Since the track was completely blocked, Tommy was sent to the rear for having to stop on all 3 occasions which was very unfortunate because he was not involved. The car seemed to be working well after the green flag came out at lap 9 and stayed green for the remainder of the race. Tommy raced his way from the back of the pack to finish in 14th spot just missing 13th by inches and a great last turn effort.
See everyone at Grandview Speedway next weekend.
This week would be a regular event at Grandview Speedway featuring the Nascar 358 Modifieds and the Late Models. The weather was perfect with a high temperature in the high 70's and a clear sky.
Tom was set to start 7th in heat number 3. Most of the race the car was loose but Tom managed to hold on and fight his way up to finish in 4th spot. The evening was going very quickly with it being a double header show. All heats managed to be completed before the sun completely set.
The feature would have a starting field of 28 cars. Tom was set to start 11th out of the 28 car field. He held his ground for most of the race until past the half way point. Coming off of turn 2, the 327 car decided to drift up into Tom and forced a few cars to bunch together resluting in Kerry Kratz hitting the wall and breaking a right rear wheel. Kratz was able to pit and be back out on the track to continue racing. Another incident containing the 14 car and 1c resulted in the 1c being turned around into the turn one fence with a few cars bunching together resulting in the spin out of Tommy. It was a rough night yet the 37x was able to battle to a 16th place finish.
Coming up on Tuesday is a special event at Grandview Speedway. The TNT Motorsports 37x team will be there with a fresh new look and hoping to come home with a great finish.
Tonights racing would be a special event. The "Forrest Rogers Memorial" is one of the biggest races at Grandview Speedway with a payout of $10,000 to the winner of the 50 lap modified feature.
Heat race action would prove who the worthy drivers were to contend for the large prize. Tommy was set to start 8th of 11 cars in heat number 1. Mainy cautions plagued the race yet the 37x was able to race up to 3rd spot and qualify for the feature event.
The team decided to make a few changes for the feature event to help tighten the car up a bit. Tom was ready to start in 10th place for the 50 lap event. On the 2nd circuit, the 14 car lost control and spun sideways in turn 3 and 4 and came down infront of Tom. The contact between the 2 cars set the 14 car straight but stopped the 37x machine on the track collecting 2 more cars with him. It was very unfortunate to lose our great starting spot while the driver who initially caused the accident went right back up to his spot. As the race moved on, Tommy made some magnificent moves including a pass coming out of turn 4 which he flew by 4 cars in one corner. Unfortunatly the handling on the 37x went away and the motor began to over heat. Scheetz pulled his 37x modified into the pits on the 47th circuit which resulted in a 25th place finish.
We will be at Grandview next Saturday for another night of 358 Modified racing. The decision to run Big Diamond Friday night has not yet been made. Updates will come as the decision is made.
The sun was shining and the sky was blue. Weather seemed to be great in the Bechtelsville area and racing was expected to be great as well. Tonight's show would be a special double header featuring the Nascar Modifieds and the URC Sprint cars.
Racing started late tonight due to soaking track conditions. The track was highly over watered and it took an extra 45 minutes or so to get the track ready for racing. Tom was set to start 6th in heat number 4. The car did not handle the way he wanted to and finished in 7th. During the consi, Tom held his ground towards the front of the pack and finished 3rd which qualified him for the main event.
The URC Sprints ran there 25 lap feature first. It was an exciting race which led to a final lap pass for the win. Tom was set to start 26th out of the 30 car field in the Nascar Modifieds. Fortunatly, the car seemed to be working better until lap 13 while coming into turn one the left rear tire blew up sending Tom around. We ran back to the pits and had a new tire on the car and sent him back onto the track. Although he would have to start in the back, Tom wasted no time and by the finish, found himself in 8th place for another top 10 finish at Grandview Speedway. Tom also won the hard charger award for the 2nd time this season for moving up the most spots, 26th to 8th.
See everyone next week at Grandview Speedway for the special Forrest Rogers Memorial race featuring $10,000 to win for the Nascar Modifieds.
After having a half decent night at the Traffic Jam 100 Big Block race, we had high hopes for Saturday night racing at Grandview Speedway. This week the team would be trying some new things to get the car around the track better. The weather was perfect and racing was ready to go.
Tom started 6th in his heat race. The car did not handle well at all. It was way too loose and Tom fell to the back of the pack. After half the race was over the car began to come into play and Tom raced back up to 6th spot and just missed the qualify position.
Tom was set to start 2nd in Consi race number 2. The green flag flew and Tom drove straight to the lead and never looked back. He picked up another Consi event win which would be his 3rd of the season.
The feature looked as if it were going to be pleasent. The TNT Motorsports 37x was set to start 22nd. We had some work cut out for us, but no job is too big for this team. A few cars piled up right infront of Tom and he was run over from behind by another driver. This sent Tom to the rear of the field with the laps ticking away. Fortunatly, Tom showed his great ability to drive a racecar and raced his way back up to 15th position with what little of the race was left.
We will see everyone next Saturday night at the local Grandview Speedway for a double header show featuring the Nascar 358 Modifieds and the URC Sprints.
Tonight was a midweek special event for Grandview Speedway. The Thunder on The Hill series were back with the Advanced Auto Parts Super Dirt Series to run the annual Traffic Jam 100. This event was a Big Block Modified event with some of the best Modified drivers on the east coast.
The night would begin with the normal hot laps. After hot laps, time trials would begin with Tommy going out 32nd out of 39 cars. This would mean he would have to be on top of his game due to being one of the last cars out. By that time the track would be dry and used up from previous cars. Tom showed his great ability to drive and qualified 18th fastest of the 39 cars. He was only .5 of a second off of the track record.
Heat race action was quick and clean. Tom started 5th in the 2nd heat and brang in a 5th place finish, qualifying him for the main event. The main event on the other hand was not as planned. Tommy started 18th place. As the green flag flew, Tommy held his position and the car looked marvelous. Around lap 7, Tom came out of corner 2 and spun out on the back stretch. Something seemed wrong with the car but we were not too sure yet. He kept racing until lap 30 he pulled off into the infield. The 37x had lost most of its braking and he felt it was too unsafe to be out there without 100% stopping ability. Other than the brake issues, the 37x team had a good night and came home in one piece with a 28th place finish of the 32 car field.
See everyone again at Grandview Speedway this Saturday for weekly small block racing action.
Tonight was an extra busy night. The crew spent most of the day putting together the Big Block car. Grandview allowed the drivers that brang there Big Block cars to have a practice session to prepare for Wednesday nights Traffic Jam 100. We decided it would be good to get a little jump on the setup and we brang both cars to the track.
Tonights racing was another triple header featuring the Nascar Modifieds, Late Models and Legends cars. Tommy was set to start 7th in heat number three. AS the green flew, he did not waste any time getting to the front. Tommy took the lead after a few laps and never looked back despite a few restarts due to some crashes.
The practice session for the Big Block went well. The car hasn't seen much of the dirt this season as this is the Big Blocks 4th race. We will only make minor adjustments for Wednesday nights event.
After the practice session, the 37x crew made minor changes for the small block car. Tom was set to start 7th in the main event. After about 6 laps, Tom had moved up to the 6th spot. The rest of the race would turn out to be wild with John Willman taking a nasty flip out of corner 4, and Mike Gular causing a late wreck in turn one which took Don Norris Jr. out of commission for the evening. Despite the cautions, the feature made it to it's end with Jeff Strunk in victory lane. The TNT Motorsports 37x came home in 13th place.
We will see everyone Wednesday night at the Traffic Jam 100. Next Saturday will also be a regular event for the Modifieds at Grandview Speedway. See you there!
This weekend would be a double header for the 37x team. On Friday night, Tom ran Big Diamond Raceway for the first time in the small block class this season. It was a rough race with many accidents and cautions, as well as a particular driver jumping on another cars hood in turns 1 and 2. Tom ran a good race and avoided the mis-haps to come home with a 14th place finish.
Saturday was yet again another wild one. The late models had there special Fire Cracker 40 with a regular show for the modifieds. At the start of the modified feature, caution flags flew left and right. Many accidents occured and the field was forced to start single file. Tom had started in the 26th spot and began gaining positions right off the bat. Unfortunatly, Tom was shoved down into the guard rail on the 5th circuit giving him a left front flat tire. There was no enough time to replace the tire and get him back on the track before the green flag flew again. The TNT Motorsports 37x came home with a 24th place finish. We will be at Grandview Speedway next Saturday night for the 358 modifieds regular show.
Another great night of racing was in store for Grandview Speedway. Weather was a bit nasty and the forecast was showing storms in the vacinity of the track. The storms had passed in the early afternoon and the skies were clear just in time to begin racing.
Tonight would be another triple header race featuring the Nascar Modifieds, Late Models and the Legends racecars. Tom was set to start 7th in heat number 4. The car turned out to be extremely loose coming off of the corners. We were only able to gain one position and finish the race in the 6th spot with the top 5 qualifying for the event. This meant we had to have the car prepared for the second consi event and race our way into the event. Tom started 2nd in the second consi and stole than lead from Troy Wink about half way through. There was no turning back and Tom pulled away from the field with ease and won the consi event, qualifying for the feature.
Tom was set to start the feature event in 22nd spot. The race was a caution filled event. By the half way point Tom had raced his way into the top 15. While coming into turn 3, the 1C car made a move to the inside and came into contact with another car. Tom had no place to go and came into contact with the 1C car and stopped on the track, sending him to the rear of the field. Unfortunatly there was not enough time to race back up through the field and finished in 21st position. Tom is still in the 15th position for points.
You can look for the 37x team to be at Big Diamond Raceway next Friday, as well as Grandview Speedway next Saturday. Hope to see you there.
For once in the past few weeks, rain and storms were no threat to the wonderful racing action at Grandview Speedway this weekend. The car was prepared and ready to roll for heat race action.
Tom was set to start 7th in heat number 3. Within the first few laps, Tom had raced the 37x modified into the top position. He was able to hold the spot after a late restart and win his heat by about 6 car lengths. The car worked really well, just didnt have enough bite. Yet Tom was still able to pull off a win.
During the 30 lap Nascar Whelen All American Dirt Modified Series race, Tom was set to start 5th. The field saw only 3 cautions througout the entire race. Unfortunatly the car did not handle the way Tom had expected. Just couldnt get any bite to the right rear tire. Tom ended up finishing in 9th place. "We'll take a top ten anyday" Tommy said in the pits. This top ten kept the TNT Motorsports team in 15th place for points, yet we are still inching closer to the drivers in front.
The TNT Motorsports team will be running a Big Block Modified race at Bridgeport Speedway on Tuesday night June 23rd, 2008. Hope to see everyone there.
Racing was canceled due to thunderstorms and rain passing through throughout the evening. We will return next weekend at Grandview Speedway. Also, plans are being made for a possible Friday night trip to Big Diamond Raceway in 2 weeks. This will be our first small block event at Diamond this season.
This weeks racing action was one like none other this season. The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky, and temperatures in the 90's made it a blistering evening. Due to last weeks blackout, the Late Model feature was postponed until tonight leaving the drivers with last weeks feature as well as a full night of racing at Grandview Speedway.
The racing was tight as usual at Grandview Speedway. During the opening Late Model feature, 6 cautions were drawin in the first 6 laps. Eric Kauffman took a nasty barrel roll coming out of turn number 2 during the first feature. Racing was delayed about an hour while the track workers used the jaws of life to cut off the roll cage to get Eric out of the car. He was medivaced to a local hospital but was awake and aware just before he was pulled from the wreckage. A crew member at the end of the night told me he was not paralyzed, was still awake and aware and was recieving a CT Scan to check out his head.
As the modifieds rolled onto the track to begin there heat races, the sun had set. This is very unusual considering most drivers see darkness on the track while running the feature, a consi, or a blackout just like the one that occured last week. Tommy was set to start 7th in his heat race. As the green flag flew, Tommy raced up to the front as quick as he could and came back with a 3rd place finish which qualified him for the main event.
Tom was set to start 5th in tonight main event. As the green flew amongst the anxious crowd, Tom shot up through the field and grabbed 2nd place. A series of cautions bunched up the field. There was probably about 5 or 6 restarts all on the first lap which Tom was able to jump into the lead on just about all of those restarts but was sent back to second because a full lap was not completed before another caution. A single file restart was in place after so many cautions. Tom ran second most of the time while inching closer and closer on the leaders tail. The bottom lane seemed to be the only lane working on the track for all of the drivers so there was not much passing. As the race went on, the track dried up extremely and Tom slipped back to a 5th place finish. This was Toms best finish so far this season and has moved him up to 15th place in the points race.
It was a great evening for the TNT Motorsports 37x. After a caution and accident filled evening, Tom managed to keep the car in one piece and come home with a great finish.
As always, stormy weather was in the area as race day came around. Grandview Speedway and surrounding areas experienced a few quick storms earlier in the day as well as a Tornado warning for most of the day till mid afternoon. The skies cleared up a few hours before race time and Saturdays racing was good to go.
Tom and I had spent the whole morning patching together the body that was slightly mangled from last weeks racing. The car was looking really good and was ready for another great night of racing at Grandview Speedway. Warm ups showed the track was extremely wet from the down poors earlier in the day.
The 37x team had the car prepared for the heat race. Tom was set to start 7th place in the heat. As the race went on a few cars collected together coming into turn 1 and 2 just in front of Tom. He had no other choice but to pitch the car sideways to avoid major damage and stop on the track. This sent him to the rear of the field and did not leave him enough time to race back up to the front.
In the first Conci race, Tom was set to start deep in the field. He raced his way up into the top 4 and qualified for the main event. The main event was being pressured by an approaching storm that consisted of high winds, thunder and lighting, along with some rain. Having to start deep in the field once again (26th), Tommy had raced his way up to 12th position by lap 11. Tommy and the car were on fire tonight. Unofortunatly, 2 cars got together coming into turn 3 hitting the wall and spinning, completely blocking the track right in front of the 37x car causing him to have to pitch the car sideways and stop once again. Tom had to be sent to the rear of the field once again. As the laps ticked down Tommy did not have enough time to race back up to the front due to the track lights going out on lap 25. The storm had cause a blackout, but everone had come to a slow safe stop. There were a select few drivers who decided to stay on the throttle for another lap for some reason, but no wrecks occured. About 3 minutes after they stopped, the clouds let loose a massive downpoor of rain which made the modified race official and canceled the late model race until next weekend. We were not too sure where Tom had finished until the payout was called. Tom came home with a 24th place finish due to the unfortunate incident that occured in turn 3.
We will be back next Saturday at Grandview Speedway for another great weekend of Nascar Whelen All American Dirt Modified Racing.
It was a beautiful day for racing at the Nascar sanctioned Grandview Speedway. After experiencing a rained out event last week, we were glad to finally get back on the track. Although, the rain did help the team. We found a few engine problems and rear end issues that needed to be fixed so the rain out helped the team in a way.
Tom was set to start 7th in heat race number 4. The car worked really well in warm ups which raised our hopes of a trouble free evening. Very quickly, Tom raced his way to the fron of the field and led most of the race putting about a half of a lap on the rest of the field. The caution flew on lap 10 which allowed the field to be on our tail once again. As the green flew the car pushed up which allowed another driver to pass and take the victory. Placing in 2nd place still gave us a great starting position in the feature which is all that matters.
The car sustained heavy body damage in the heat race when Tom was forced to go 3 wide coming out of turn 4. He still managed to bring the car to a 2nd place finish which gave him the 7th starting position in the feature. In about 3 laps of the main event, Tom raced his way up to 3rd place. The car was working extremely well. The problem was we knew the track would drift away as the race went on. Tom was able to hold his ground most of the race and hang on to a top 10 position as he finished in 9th place. Unfortunatly the track was not in great shape for tonights racing action leaving a lot of drivers boggled with there cars handling. Bringing home another top 10 finish should move us up in points but we will not find out the official results until they are posted officialy. Thanks to the crew for working there tails off to prepare the car for another great week of Nascar Dirt Modified racing at Grandview Speedway.
Once again the weather was threatening the area of Grandview Speedway as it was for the past few weeks. Warm ups went well and ended around 7. Tonight was a triple header show featuring the Nascar Whelen All American Series Modifieds along with the Late Models and Legends cars.
The legends managed to complete there heat races but as the late models hit the track the rain began to come down. It was a slow drizzle yet the forecast showed another should be entering the area in another hour or so. Officials decided to cancel the event and will continue next Saturday starting at 7pm.
Rain was a factor all of Friday and a slight chance of showers during mid day Saturday. The rain held off on Saturday and the sun was out for a spectacular night at Grandview Speedway.
The track was extremely wet from Fridays pouring rain. Tonight would be another triple header show with the Nascar Modifieds, Late Models and the 600 Modifieds.
The car was looking great in warm ups tonight. We all knew with the down pours yesterday, the track would be very wet and slick. So the crew tightened up the car to keep the traction down on the dirt surface. as usual, the car was working very well in hot laps.
Tommy was set to start 8th in heat number 1. As the laps ticked down, he had made his way up to 4th place by lap number eight and then the caution flew. The top 5 qualified for the main event. As the green flag flew on the restart, Tommy was shoved into the wall coming out of turn 4 and dropped him back to 7th place.
Unfortunatly we did not qualify through the heat race so we would have to prepare the car for the conci race. Tom was set to start 9th in the conci with 4 cars qualifying. The car was extremely fast but since we started so far back in the field, Tom did not have enough laps to get up to the top 4 to qualify for the main event.
It is very unfortunate that we did not make the main event in tonights racing. Many of the top guns had problems tonight. The car was working very well and was extremely fast which would have made Tom a top contender for the win. We just fell victim to a bad starting position in both the heat race caution and the starting of the conci.
Even though Tommy did not make it to the main event, he still maintained a top 20 points position. The TNT Motorsports 37x will return to Grandview Speedway next Saturday for another great racing event. Stop by and visit us in the pits to check out the team status and have a word with the driver and the rest of the team.

Tommy went out for warm ups and the car looked very well. We knew he would be a top contender for the evening. Tom was set to start 8th in his heat race with the top 5 qualifying for the main event. Few cautions flew in the 12 lap heat race and Tom raced his way into the top 3 which allowed him to qualify for the main event.
The car seemed to be working very well tonight. Tonight was yet again another triple header featuring with the Nascar Modifieds, Late Models, and the Legends Cars. Since rain was threatening the area, no intermission was held and the modified drivers were forced to have there cars ready much quicker than normal.
Tom was set to start 8th in the main event, but since track officials were hurrying the drivers, quite a few drivers found themselves late for the line up, and were forced to start in the rear of the 30 car field. Unfortunatly we were one of the cars caught up in this disaster. But no worries, about 15 laps through the main event, Tom had raced his way up to 11th spot! Unfortunatly a pile up in turns 1 and 2 caused a car to turn on its roof and Tom had to pitch the car sideways to avoid the accident sending him back towards the rear of the field. Tom raced his way back up the field but the laps ticked away quickly and he finished in 16th spot.
It was a good night at Grandview Speedway with a top 20 finish in the Nascar Modified Series. Tom came into this event in the 17th points position and has maintained his top 20 points position while still keeping 17th. Thanks to all the fans and the "turn 3 crew" for your support. We will see you again at Grandview Speedway in the on-coming weekends.
Rain was threatening the area for the entire day, yet some how it managed to hold off until racing was over. The TNT Motorsports team had there work cut out for them from last weeks flip in the heat race at Grandview Speedway. The team came together and overcame last weeks wreck to repair the car and have it ready for racing.
Tommy's run in warm ups proved that the car was once again fast and in good shape. He was set to start 5th in heat number 1, with the top 5 out of 13 cars advancing to the main event. Tonight was a triple header at Grandview Speedway with the normal Late Models and 358 Modifieds with also attending the show, the 600cc Modifieds. Tommy ended up finishing 5th and qualifying for the main event.
The car was a little loose in the heat race so the TNT Motorsports team changed the gearing and tried to give the car a little more bite in the corners. Tommy was set to start 17th out of 30 starting cars in the main event. As the race progressed, Tommy found the quick line around the track and made some excellent passes around some of the most respected drivers in the sport. He proved he was one of the big boys and was a major contender in the series. As the race went on Tommy found himself crossing the finish line in 11th place. It was a great night for the TNT Motorsports team after recovering from the previous weeks flip. The 11th place finish puts Tommy back up to 17th place for points standings in the 358 Nascar Whelen All American Racing Series at Grandview Speedway.

The weather was perfect for Saturday night racing at Grandview Speedway. Temperatures reached the low to mid 80's with bright sunny skies. The TNT Motorsports racing team was ready for another night of action on the 1/3 mile clay oval.
Tonight was a triple header at Grandview Speedway with the normal 358 Nascar Modifieds, Late Models and an addition of the Legends racecars.
The night started out very well. Practice proved that the car was very fast and would be a great contender for tonights racing. Tom was set to start 6th in heat #3 for the Nascar Modifieds. As the green flag flew, Tommy found himself on the high side coming through turns 1 and 2 with one car below him. A car directly in front of him drove straight into the wall pitching his car sideways. Tommy was in a bind and had no place to go, not even enough room to stear out of the way nor slow down. The back tire clipped the car in front of his and sent the 37x modified into a wild flip down the back stretch. As he came to rest, luckily not upside down, we knew the night was over. Luckily Tom was not injured at all and was able to climb out of the car and walk away under his own power. Needless to say this unfortunate event prevented the team from making the feature and ended up going home with a torn up racecar.
As we recall from last weeks racing, Tom finished 7th out of 30 starting modifieds in the feature race and was awarded this weekend as the April 12th Hard Charger for moving up 18 spots. Thats over half of the field. The TNT Motorsports team will return next weekend at Grandview Speedway to overcome this weekends un lucky event.
The TNT Motorsports number 37x team showed there faces early in the pits for Saturday evenings Grandview Speedway racing event. Driver Tommy Scheetz Jr. was highly focused and eager to hit the track with hopes of a good night.
The night started out a bit rocky with the car leaking a slight bit of coolant after warm ups. Big Tom used his wrench skills to solve that problem in time for the heat race. The rest of the team prepped the car and made it top notch for some great Grandview speedway action.
Tommy was set to start 5th in heat number 2. Eight laps into the ten lap heat race, Tommy made his way up to 2nd place and the caution flew. On the restart, a chunk of debris was kicked into the air and struck Tommy in the throat which did not allow him to continue the race. After he was able to get out of the car, he was checked out at the ambulance with the first aid crew. He turned out to be a little swollen and bruised, yet was able to continue racing but with a lot of pain.
Since Tommy did not qualify in his heat race due to the unfortunate incident, he would have to qualify through the conci race. Tom was set to start 8th out of a total of 13 modifieds, with the top 4 qualifying for the main event. On the first lap Tommy fought his way up to third place. He placed in the top 4 and qualified for the main event.
The main event consisted of 30 cars while Tommy was starting 25th. The race had many cautions in the first 10 laps. Tommy used his head very wisely and kept his nose clean to avoid the many accidents. After the half way point, he had raced his way into the top 15. The car seemed to be working really well tonight on the slick clay surface. As the laps ticked down, Tommy found himself in the top 10 with a 7th place finish. It was a long, caution filled race, yet Tommy found a way to race the 37x machine up to 7th place from the 25th starting position. Tommy also won the hard charger award for moving up the most spots than any other driver in the race. This event also moved Tommy into 19th place in the points standings. What Tommy and the whole team accomplished tonight was a very difficult task. Hats off to the 37x TNT Motorsports modified team for a great evening.
